How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book?

Prompt Response: It helps me understand his story more and what he went through for him to make this decision. One key thing that I found in the film is the family issues. I think a lot of people run away because of that reason because it's too much to take sometimes. Summary: Discussion questions 1-3 about the film being compared to the book. Reflection: I think the book has a deeper tone and meaning than the movie.
